A dental crown serves many functions, but it is primarily used to support and strengthen a tooth that has been damaged by decay or trauma.

At Royal Wharf Dental, we offer dental crowns which are made of metal or ceramic, which is colour matched to your natural teeth.

What is a crown?

A crown acts like a cap for a natural tooth. It is permanently fixed to a tooth once the damaged section of the enamel is removed. Crowns are also used to hold dental bridges in place.

At Royal Wharf Dental, we have invested in technology heavily and offer our patients the revolutionary CEREC system. A 3-D scanner is used in the clinic to take a digital impression of your tooth, the crown is designed on the software and a crown is made via a robot whilst you wait. This means everything is undertaken in just 1 visit often within the hour. This means less cost, less appointments, less pain and less effect on the environment.
