By keeping your teeth healthy and strong through regular dentist and hygiene appointments, it is our aim to help you avoid future treatments and procedures.

Looking after your oral health in the present, helps to preserve your teeth and gums in the future and at Royal Wharf Dental we champion preventative dentistry practises to ensure your ongoing dental health.

What is preventative dentistry?

Apart from professionally cleaning your teeth and removing any build-up of plaque or tartar, our dentists offer treatments to strengthen your teeth or protect them from future damage.

The first step is to maintain a regular home care routine, this means brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing at least once a day. It is also important to use toothpaste which contains fluoride.

When you attend the practice, we will examine your mouth and may also take dental x-rays to ensure there are no cavities or areas of weakness that need attention. Where holes or disease have taken hold, we will offer treatment to prevent such issues from worsening.

We can also provide dietary advice and smoking cessation advice to prevent any deterioration of the health of your teeth and gums.

Preventative dentistry is all about caring for our patients now and in the future.
